What are Human Rights?

Human rights are basic rights and freedoms that belong to every person, no matter who they are or where they live.
Examples: right to life, education, equality, freedom, and safety

1️⃣ Poverty & Hunger

Issue:
Many people do not have enough food, clean water, or proper shelter.

Major places affected:

  • Sub-Saharan Africa

  • South Asia

Example:
In Somalia, many families suffer from starvation due to drought and extreme poverty.

What we can do:

  • Donate food and clothes

  • Reduce food wastage

  • Support charities

2️⃣ Lack of Education

Issue:
Children are denied education because of poverty, war, or discrimination.

Major places affected:

  • Afghanistan

  • Pakistan

  • Parts of Africa

Example:
In Afghanistan, many girls are not allowed to attend secondary schools.

What we can do:

  • Support education programs

  • Donate books and school supplies

  • Encourage education for all

3️⃣ Child Labour

Issue:
Children are forced to work instead of going to school.

Major places affected:

  • India

  • Bangladesh

  • Africa

Example:
In India, children are made to work in firework and carpet factories.

What we can do:

  • Avoid products made using child labour

  • Spread awareness

  • Support child rights

4️⃣ Gender Inequality

Issue:
Women and girls are treated unfairly compared to men.

Major places affected:

  • South Asia

  • Middle East

  • Africa

Example:
In some rural areas of India, girls are forced into early marriage and denied education.

What we can do:

  • Treat everyone equally

  • Support girls’ education

  • Speak against discrimination

5️⃣ Racism & Discrimination

Issue:
People are treated unfairly because of race, religion, or skin colour.

Major places affected:

  • United States

  • Europe

  • Parts of Asia

Example:
In the USA, African Americans have faced racial discrimination in jobs and education.

What we can do:

  • Respect all cultures

  • Stand against racism and bullying

  • Promote equality

6️⃣ War & Refugee Crisis

Issue:
Wars force people to leave their homes.

Major places affected:

  • Syria

  • Ukraine

  • Palestine

Example:
The Syrian Civil War forced millions of people to live in refugee camps.

What we can do:

  • Support refugee relief organizations

  • Promote peace

  • Show kindness to refugees

7️⃣ Lack of Clean Water & Healthcare

Issue:
People do not have access to clean water and medical facilities.

Major places affected:

  • Africa

  • Rural Asia

Example:
In parts of Africa, children walk long distances to collect clean drinking water.

What we can do:

  • Save water

  • Support clean water projects

  • Maintain hygiene

8️⃣ Freedom of Speech Violations

Issue:
People are not allowed to express their opinions freely.

Major places affected:

  • North Korea

  • China

  • Some Middle Eastern countries

Example:
In North Korea, people are punished for criticizing the government.

What we can do:

  • Respect different opinions

  • Support peaceful expression

  • Use freedom responsibly

Clauses are the building blocks of sentences and come in two main types: main clauses (independent clauses) and dependent clauses (subordinate clauses).
