 A clause is a group of words that contains a subject and a verb (FINITE) and can form a complete thought of its own. Clauses are the building blocks of sentences and come in two main types: main clauses (independent clauses) and dependent clauses (subordinate clauses). Finite Verbs Underline the finite verb and circle the non-finite verb(s) in each sentence. ✅ Questions: He promised to help me with my homework. They were watching a movie when the lights went out.
