STOP AND THINK

 BE PROACTIVE

JUST PUSH AND PAUSE

We have the freedom to choose our responses.

Life gives us many situations, but we should not controlled by them.

We have a 'pause' button inside us. When we press pause, we give ourselves time to think before reacting.

When someone treats you badly or comments on you, how can we resist the urge to be reactive.

Example 1: The Cheating Student

πŸ“ Situation: The girl next to you is copying from your test.
πŸ”΄ Reactive: You feel angry. You want to write “cheater” on her paper or snatch it away.
🟒 Pause + Wise Response: You stay calm and decide to talk to her after the test. You say, “You’re smart. I think you should try to do it on your own. I believe you can.”

Example 2: A Friend Insults You in Front of Others

πŸ“ Situation: Your friend jokes about your handwriting in front of others.
πŸ”΄ Reactive: You feel embarrassed. You want to insult them back.
🟒 Pause + Wise Response: You stay calm. Later, you talk to your friend privately: “It hurt me when you said that. Please don’t make fun of me like that.”

Example 3: You Lost in a Game

πŸ“ Situation: You worked hard, but your team lost the football match.
πŸ”΄ Reactive: You throw the ball or argue with teammates.
🟒 Pause + Wise Response: You take a deep breath and say, “We’ll try harder next time. Let’s practice more and improve as a team.”

Example 4: The Teacher Scolds You Unfairly

πŸ“ Situation: The teacher blames you for talking when it was someone else.
πŸ”΄ Reactive: You feel it’s unfair. You want to shout, “It wasn’t me!”
🟒 Pause + Wise Response: You quietly wait. Later, you go to the teacher and explain respectfully, “Ma’am, I wanted to let you know I wasn’t the one speaking, but I understand it looked that way.”

Example 5: Someone Pushes You in the Corridor

πŸ“ Situation: Someone bumps into you on purpose.
πŸ”΄ Reactive: You want to push them back or say something rude.
🟒 Pause + Wise Response: You step back and walk away, thinking, “I won’t let someone else’s bad mood ruin my day.”
