1. Does slavery exist today? What do you think are the effects of slavery on a person?

Answer:
Yes, unfortunately, modern forms of slavery still exist today, such as forced labor, human trafficking, child labor, and domestic servitude. Although it may not always resemble ancient slavery, millions of people worldwide are exploited for work without fair wages or freedom to leave.

Effects of slavery on a person:

  • Loss of freedom: The person is not allowed to make choices about their life.
  • Physical and emotional harm: Slaves often face harsh working conditions and mistreatment, leading to trauma.
  • Lack of education and growth: They are denied opportunities for personal development.
  • Low self-worth: Constant exploitation damages their mental health, leaving them feeling powerless and hopeless.

Do you agree with using animals for amusement and games? How can these practices be brought to an end?

Answer:
Many animals are still used for human entertainment in activities like circuses, zoos, racing, bullfighting, and marine parks. I believe these practices can be cruel because animals are often taken out of their natural habitats, treated unfairly, and sometimes forced to perform through fear or punishment.

How these practices can end:

  • Education and Awareness: People need to understand that animals also feel pain and stress.
  • Stronger Laws: Governments can ban the use of animals in entertainment.
  • Promoting Alternatives: We can encourage alternatives like virtual safaris and animal documentaries to enjoy wildlife ethically.
  • Supporting Animal Sanctuaries:

Subject: Request for School Library Renovation

Respected Sir,

I would like to express my thoughts regarding the renovation of our school library to create a more inviting and resourceful environment for students. As a student who loves to read and learn, I believe a well-equipped library is essential for our academic growth and development.

Currently, our library lacks sufficient seating and up-to-date books. Many students find it difficult to find a quiet place to read or study. By renovating the library, we can include more comfortable seating, better lighting, and a wider selection of books and resources.

A modern library would not only encourage more students to read but also provide a conducive environment for studying and group projects. It would be a valuable asset to our school community. I hope you will support this initiative to enhance our learning experience.

Yours Sincerely,

Amit Kumar

Mr. Ravi Desai

Mayor

Municipal Corporation of Ahmedabad

12 Civic Center

Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Subject: Request for Repair of Nehru Street Road

Dear Mr. Desai,

I am writing to bring to your kind attention the urgent need for repairing the road on Nehru Street in Sector 5, Ahmedabad. The road has been in poor condition for a long time, and the situation continues to get worse with each passing day.

The number of potholes, cracks, and broken patches on this road has increased a lot. Vehicles often get stuck or damaged while passing through, and pedestrians find it very hard to walk safely. Many residents have reported small accidents and injuries, especially during the evening when visibility is low. During the rainy season, the water fills the potholes, making it even more dangerous for everyone. School buses, two-wheelers, and even ambulances face great difficulty using this road, causing delays and discomfort for the people in the area.

Repairing this road will make travel safer and more comfortable for all. It will also give the neighbourhood a cleaner and better look. We sincerely request the Municipal Corporation to take quick action and repair the road at the earliest for the safety and well-being of the residents. We hope for your prompt and positive reply.

Sincerely,

Anjali Patel
