 DESERT:   A ny large, extremely dry area of land with scanty vegetation.  It is one of Earth’s major types of ecosystems, supporting a community of distinctive plants and animals specially adapted to the harsh environment. There are different types of sentences: Simple, compound and complex sentences Simple Sentences: A sentence which has only one finite verb or one independent clause in it is called a simple sentence. E.g. He went to the ground. A sentence made up of two or more principal clauses, each containing a finite verb and linked by a coordinating conjunction. E.g. He went to the ground and played football. A sentence made up of principal clause and one or more subordinate clauses is called a complex sentence. E.g.
